Series 900 Radiation & Contamination Monitors

All series 900 radiation and contamination meters have battery operation (rechargeable or standard) or mains operation from a plug-in unit, an internal constant current charger for rechargeable cells, wide meter scaled logarithmically to avoid range changing, an internal speaker for audible pulse rate and an alarm that can trip at any set position on the scale.

  • Type E. Popular general purpose unit. Scaled 0.5-2000 counts s-1.

  • Type EP15. High sensitivity unit for soft beta contamination 15cm2 window area. Scaled 0-600 counts s-1.

  • Type R. For general purpose gamma monitoring. Scaled 0.5-5000µSv h-1.

  • Type D. Wide energy range dose rate monitor. Scaled 0.5-1000µSv h-1.

SmartION Advanced Ion Chamber Survey Meter

A new microcomputer based instrument for the measurement of Gamma, Beta and X-ray radiation. The SmartION provides functions not previously avaliable in meters of this type, including data logging, dose rate alarm, remote calibration and security features. SmartION. Range: 1µSv h-1 to 50mSv h-1 in four auto ranges.

Scintillation Monitor & Probes

The series 900 unit is available with a selection of scintillation probes for efficient gamma and X-ray detection.

  • Type 41 & 41S. Crystal size: 25mm ø x 17mm and 25mm ø x 38mm respectively, for general purpose gamma monitoring.

  • Type 42A/B. Crystal size: 23mm ø x 1mm with Al and Be window respectively, for low energy photon or X-ray detection.

  • Type 44A/B. Crystal size: 32mm ø x 2.5mm with Al and Be window respectively, for gamma contamination monitoring.

Series 1500 Portable ratemeter with alpha/beta discrimination

The series 1500 battery operated ratemeter is a compact portable unit for use with dual phosphor scintillation probes in applications where it is required to distinguished between alpha and beta contamination. There is also a single, low level threshold for general purpose contamination monitoring using GM tubes and scintillation probes. Other features include a long scale easy to read moving coil meter with log scale marked 0-5cps, adjustable alarm trip, audiable rate alarm and user control of detector operating voltage.
